Emily's Story

Written by

Alex_3Alex and Emily have grown up together.  She is a beautiful brown-eyed teen with Rett's whose smile lights up a room.  Although it is hard for Emily to walk and communicate, her mom makes sure that she is included.  Alex will often give her a hug (and sometimes a kiss!).They went to their first dance together.

To The Special People In My Life…

Written by

cityscape-alexI want to dedicate my website to the special people in my life

  • My teachers at Ivy Mount, especially Ms. Randy who teaches art and Ms. Beth, whose class I've been in for almost two years.  On my website there are photos of me with my ribbons from the 2009 Montgomery County Fair. I won a 1st. Place Blue Ribbon for “City Skyline” and a Purple Grand Champion Ribbon for “Rainbow Sand Box.”  Both were done at school.

  • My friend and teacher, Tammy, who is studying to be an art therapist, inspired me to paint “Dark Roses” which also won a Grand Champion Ribbon.  She can be seen in some photos with my parents.

  • My teachers from The Whole Self Center, Soraya D. and Soraya F., who always come up with creative projects and ways to help me express myself.  They helped me organize this website and name some of the artwork.

  • My family who gives me encouragement and loves me for who I am.
